Bengal Camp

Come join the Idaho State Track and Field teams for the Bengal Track & Field Camp. This camp is for all athletes 6th through 12th grade. Select your event area at signup. Athletes will be grouped in these event groups and remain in them throughout the camp. Campers will learn the finer details of their events and will progress through drills and skill instruction at their individual levels and needs.

  • Sprints/Hurdles
    • Learn aspects of being a top sprinter. Work on running form, block starts, and hurdle mechanics.
  • Shotput – Discus – Hammer – Javelin
    • Learn the mechanics and technique of the throwing events.
  • Long/Triple – High Jump – Pole Vault
    • Learn the mechanics and technique of the jumps, progressions, and drills for each event.
  • Cross Country - Distance
    • Learn all aspects of training, race execution, and event specific needs of the cross country and distance races.
  • Learn the technique, skills, and drills for your event area
  • Breakout sessions about Nutrition, NCAA Eligibility Center, goal setting and mindset, and strength training

Camp Cost: $240
($225 + $15 Fee)
Overnight Cost: $450 (Additional $200)
($425 + $25 Fee)
Overnight Camper Limit: 40 Participants

Yes, please bring a reusable water bottle to camp, there will be water fountains and coolers to refill throughout the day.

Please make sure to bring your water bottle, sunscreen, track spikes/event shoes, and appropriate athletic attire.

Yes, pole vaulters should bring there own vaulting poles when possible. ISU has a number of poles to help supplement pole selection however it is best is you bring the poles you are going to be using during your high school season.

Yes, please bring your own shot put, discus, or javelin with you to camp. ISU has a limited number of high school weighted implements.

When staying in the ISU Dorms please make sure to bring your toiletry bag (toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, bath towel, etc.) Linens (sheets, blanket, pillow) will be provided in your dorm room.

Meals will be provided and are part of the registration fees associated with camp. Those staying in campus housing will receive lunch and dinner on day 1; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on day 2; and breakfast and lunch on day 3. Commuter campers will receive lunch each day and are responsible for their own breakfast and dinner.

Campers are encouraged to select and event area and remain their during camp. It is possible to participate in different events during camp however with the structure of camp, campers may miss important skill instruction for one event while they are participating in another. If you wish to participate in multiple events please reach out to the camp director before hand and they will help facilitate the request if possible.
